Entry Level Creative Technologist/Electronics Specialist
Are you a creative tinkerer who loves working on cool projects? A hacker at heart? Do you live for the feeling of satisfaction that comes from seeing complex systems come together? We are seeking entry level creative technologists who are local to the greater Los Angeles area to work on-site at our South Bay location on a project to project basis. This role has the potential to become full time for qualified individuals.
Our studio is a unique space in the industry. We create what doesn’t exist; using the latest technologies and fabrication methods, we work with leaders around the globe to create products and experiences that are innovating and exciting. We work with industries including but not limited to: the automotive, design, fashion, motion picture, development/prototype, tech, and television; as well as festival and experiential events for industries across the board. We cover anything from Design & Concept to Installation & Event Support and everything in between. We dream big, we make the unmakeable – and we need big dreamers like you!
2+ years of hands-on experience (in a formal or informal setting) with:
Development of popular micro-controller boards for use in lighting, animatronics, sensor systems, wireless communication, sound, R/C or other technologies.
Working with a variety of electrical equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, laboratory power supplies, waveform generators, soldering iron, and wire/cable assembly tools.
Familiarity with basic digital and analog circuits and systems.
Must be able to prototype reliable circuits and electronics.
Capable of troubleshooting and fixing electronics in a timely manner.
Must be able to travel and provide on-site support.
Willing to work on the weekends when needed.
Be able to understand and use custom electronic systems and software developed in-house.
Ability to work well under pressure, adhere to tight deadlines and follow guidelines, processes and schedules
Well organized and clean.
An ability to keep work stations in an organized state at all times.
An individual who is self-motivated and independent.
Willing to take on tasks unrelated of electronics and/or learn new things.
Be able to use workshop equipment

Working knowledge of:
Electric motors (servo, stepper, linear, DC and AC)
Programmable lighting systems
General electrical (panels. fuses. breakers, etc.)
Proficiency in any of the following languages:
Salary is commensurate with experience.
